Use of SoHi Building

Retail uses are targeted for the SoHi Building, which are substantially more attractive, useful, and valuable to neighborhood residents, employees, business people, and those who stop while traveling through Milwaukee’s Near West Side than many of those uses which are currently available to consumers in the SoHi District area. Specifically envisioned are a restaurant/cafe/coffee shop right on the southeast corner of 27th and Wells and complimentary retail businesses (e.g. bicycle shop, book shop, library outlet, print shop, etc. in the adjoining 1st floor retail space. Our first tenant, Subway, will occupy the two south bays (1700sf) on the first floor. The developer does not intend to rent space for certain retail uses e.g. check cashing businesses, cell phone shops, beauty salons, fast food restaurants, liquor stores, corner grocery stores, etc.

The office space on the second and third floors the SoHi Building will be high quality at a very convenient neighborhood location. Possible tenants include law firms, accounting firms, insurance offices, computer & network consulting firms, architectural firms, engineering firms, offices for groups who do business with major employers in the neighborhood or who find the unique, centralized, and “close to Downtown” location to their advantage. Again, this office space can provide substantially more convenience and value to neighborhood residents, employees, business people, and to those who stop while traveling through Milwaukee’s Near West Side than that space which is currently available to these consumers.
